The implants from the INITIAL A – Ankle range are dedicated to the fixation of fractures, osteotomies, and pseudarthroses of the distal and diaphyseal fibula, the distal tibia, and to the fixation of the syndesmosis in adults.

As a complement to its Activ Ankle range, Newclip Technics offers a solution for distal fibula fractures in a single-use sterile kit: INITIAL A – Ankle.

A plate, screws, and specific instruments combined in a single ready-to-use kit.

This allows surgeons and healthcare staff to reduce the time required to manage the cases to be treated.

As a result, patient turnover becomes more efficient in the operating room, contributing to its better utilization.

Today, we offer 9 kits: 3 plate sizes for the right and left sides, 2 symmetrical narrow sizes, and 1 kit for syndesmosis.

INITIAL A – Ankle KIT

The INITIAL A – Ankle kits consist of implants and instrumentation for fibula fractures. These kits include a plate, screws, quick-release drills, a 2-in-1 ancillary tool, a length gauge, a threaded guide gauge, a handle for the guide gauge, a screwdriver, and the associated guide wires.

8 kits available:

  • 3 plate sizes for right and left sides
  • 2 narrow symmetrical sizes
INITIAL A – Ankle SYNDESMOSIS KIT

The INITIAL A – Ankle Syndesmosis kit is designed for screw refixation of the syndesmosis. This dedicated instrument kit includes a quick-coupling drill bit, a non-threaded guide gauge, a screwdriver, and compression washers.

The screws are not available in the INITIAL A – Ankle Syndesmosis kit; they are available separately in sterile single-unit packaging (S-box).

The associated screws for this kit are:

  • Non-locking screws (fully threaded) ø3.5 mm (length 40 to 70 mm)
  • Lag screws (partially threaded) ø4.0 mm long (length 40 to 70 mm)
INITIAL A – Ankle – STANDARD PLATE
The INITIAL A – Ankle range offers 3 sizes of so-called “standard” plates for both right and left sides. They can be used with or without syndesmosis management (INITIAL A – Ankle Syndesmosis kit).
Bending zones facilitate the plate’s congruence to the bone, particularly on the diaphyseal portion, which shows great anatomical variability from one patient to another.
INITIAL A – Ankle – NARROW PLATE
The INITIAL A – Ankle ange offers 2 sizes of narrow lateral plates. They can be used with or without syndesmosis management (INITIAL A – Ankle Syndesmosis kit).
Bending zones facilitate the plate’s congruence to the bone, particularly on the diaphyseal portion, which shows great anatomical variability from one patient to another.

  • Bendable areas allowing the plates to be adapted to bone anatomy
  • Plates fitted with polyaxial locked holes in the epiphysis allowing an angular range of +/- 10° (20° amplitude)
  • Limits the risks of infection and cross-contamination
  • Guarantees the traceability of implants
  • Reduces equipment preparation time
  • Option: replacement kits, ablation kits, and plate templates
