INITIAL A Xpert
.

Single-use sterile kits for ankle fractures.

The implants of the INITIAL A Xpert range are intended for the fixation of fractures, osteotomies and pseudarthroses of the distal and the diaphyseal fibula, the distal tibia and for the syndesmotic repair in adults.

As a complement to its Xpert Ankle line, Newclip Technics offers a specific solution for the management of ankle fractures in the form of a single-use sterile kit: INITIAL A Xpert.

Each ready-to-use kit includes a plate, dedicated instruments, and in some cases the associated screws.

Ankle fractures account for approximately 15% of fractures managed in emergency rooms1. In this context, Newclip Technics has developed single-use sterile kits combining safety and immediate availability, in order to reduce operative costs and perioperative time.

The range is currently available in several configurations:
• Distal fibula plate kits
• Dedicated kit for syndesmosis and medial malleolus
• Straight plate kits, compatible with the fibula or tibia
• Instrumentation kit for Ø4.0 mm cannulated compression screws
• Instrumentation kit for sterile plates and screws

Our sterile solution: INITIAL A Xpert.

INITIAL A XPERT– DISTAL FIBULA

The INITIAL A Xpert distal fibula kit includes implants and instrumentation for the treatment of fibula fractures. These kits include the dedicated plate, associated screws, and the instrumentation required for the proper conduct of the surgical procedure. All the plates of the range are compatible* with several types of syndesmosis fixation: Ø3.5 mm screws or double-button fixation.**

**Screws and double boutons are not included in the kit; please order them separately.

KIT INITIAL A XPERT – STANDARD LATERAL PLATE – DISTAL FIBULA

Isolated fibula fractures account for 65–70%2 of malleolar complex injuries. For this reason, the distal fibula kit offers 3 sizes of “standard” lateral plates for right and left sides. The plates feature two dedicated holes to maintain the syndesmosis implant.*

Associated syndesmosis disruption occurs in 10%3 of ankle fractures. The INITIAL A Xpert syndesmosis/medial malleolus kit can therefore be combined to manage this indication.

KIT INITIAL A XPERT – STRAIGHT LATERAL PLATE – DISTAL FIBULA

Isolated fibula fractures account for 65–70%2 of malleolar complex injuries. For this reason, the distal fibula kit offers 3 sizes of “straight” symmetric lateral plates. The plates feature two dedicated holes to maintain the syndesmosis implant.*

Associated syndesmosis disruption occurs in 10%3 of ankle fractures. The INITIAL A Xpert syndesmosis/medial malleolus kit can therefore be combined to manage this indication.

INITIAL A XPERT – SYNDESMOSIS / MEDIAL MALLEOLUS

Ankle fractures are frequently associated with concomitant syndesmotic disruption (10%3 of cases). To enable comprehensive management of this fracture type, Newclip Technics has also developed a dedicated INITIAL A Xpert kit for syndesmosis and medial malleolus management.

This dedicated instrumentation kit includes a quick-coupling drill bit, a non-threaded depth gauge, a screwdriver, and compression washers compatible with non-locking Ø3.5 mm screws or lag screws Ø4.0 mm. Screws are not included in the kit, but are available in individual sterile packaging (S-box), so that the surgeon can choose the most appropriate option forthe clinical situation (non-locking or lag screw).

The screws associated with this kit are:

  • Non-locking (fully threaded) screws Ø3.5 mm (length: 40 to 70 mm)
  • Lag screws (partially threaded) Ø4.0 mm (length: 40 to 70 mm)
INITIAL A XPERT – STRAIGHT SYMMETRICAL PLATE FOR THE ANKLE

The symmetric straight plate kit offers 3 plate sizes applicable to both the fibula and distal tibia.

As this plate may be used on different bones or in combination with other plates, the screws are not included, they must be ordered separately depending on the surgical requirements.

The kit includes the required instrumentation as well as the sterile-packaged plate.

Screws and double boutons are not included in the kit; please order them separately.

Key features of the INITIAL A Xpert kit.

  • All screw holes are polyaxial
  • Standard and straight anatomical lateral plates incorporate two dedicated holes to maintain the syndesmosis implant*
  • Oblong locking hole compatible with:
    • A compression screw for plate positioning or compression
    • A locking screw
  • All holes are compatible with locking and non-locking screws, and with different screw diameters (Ø2.8 & Ø3.5 mm). Exception: the ramped oblong hole, which allows guided axial compression through the screw/plate interface and accepts only a non-locking Ø3.5 mm screw
  • Single-use kit that:
    • Reduces the risk of contamination
    • Reduced perioperative time
  • Available as options: instrumentation kits, removal kits, and plate templates
