Initial K – Hinge Screw is part of the Initial S range. A kit in the Initial S™ range comprises either a set of instruments or a set of instruments and implants (compression washers), which can only be used in orthopedic or trauma surgery, when fitting osteosynthesis screws marketed by Newclip Technics. The implants in the Stand-Alone Screws range are designed for the fixation of fractures, osteotomies and bone arthrodesis in adults, and are appropriate to the size of the device.
Initial K – Hinge Screw is part of the Initial S range, which includes sterile single-use instrument kits, used in combination with screws from the Stand-Alone Screws range. These implants (cannulated or non-cannulated screws) are designed for the fixation of fractures, osteotomies, and bone arthrodesis in adults. Their dimensions are in line with the surgical site to be approached.
Initial K – Hinge Screw is intended to manage bone hinge ruptures that can occur in the context of osteotomy of the tibia (Takeuchi fracture type I or III) or the femur. This screw can also be used to simply reinforce the hinge when the surgeon deems it necessary, to limit the concentration of mechanical stresses in this area, which is essential to bone reconstruction.
These bone hinge fractures in knee osteotomy are complications that, although rare, can occur during an osteotomy (when mobilizing the hinge to obtain the desired correction), and reduction by a screw of appropriate size is then required.

Initial K Hinge Screw comprises instruments for the insertion of self-compressive screws for bone hinge ruptures. This kit includes a 3-in-1 device, single-use handle, pins, quick-coupling drill bit, and a double guide.
The screws are not available in the Initial K Hinge Screw kit; they are available separately in a sterile version (S-box).

- Headless, to be fully inserted into the bone
